Midland Empire Resources for Independent Living (MERIL) is the Center for Independent Living in Northwest Missouri. We provide services and resources for people with disabilities in our predominately rural nine-county service area of Andrew, Atchison, Buchanan, Clinton, Holt, Nodaway, DeKalb, Gentry and Worth counties.
Since 1994, we have provided five core services for people with disabilities: information and referral, Independent Living skills training, transition services (youth and nursing home), peer support, and advocacy. We also provide assistive technology services, Consumer Directed Services (CDS), and In-Home Services nurses and caregivers.
Our vision is: "A Barrier-Free Northwest Missouri." We believe people with disabilities should have control over their own lives, achieve their own goals, and fully participate in their communities.
